Real Madrid’s Mbappe Hospitalized

Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid’s esteemed forward, has been hospitalized due to gastroenteritis following his absence from their Club World Cup debut against Al-Hilal.

The captain of France’s national team, aged 26, skipped Tuesday’s training due to a fever and was not seen on the field during Wednesday’s 1-1 tie against the Saudi Arabian team.

In an announcement made on Thursday, Real confirmed that Mbappe is suffering from “an acute case of gastroenteritis” and is undergoing “a series of tests” at the hospital.

Gastroenteritis, commonly known as a stomach bug, can induce symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.

Real Madrid’s upcoming match is against Pachuca, and it is set to take place at 20:00 BST on Sunday. As of now, it remains unclear whether Mbappe will be fit to participate in the match.

Since his free transfer from Paris St-Germain, Mbappe has proven to be a valuable addition to Real Madrid, scoring an impressive 43 goals in 56 games across all competitions in his first season.

This is the team’s first competition under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, who took over from Carlo Ancelotti as the manager at the conclusion of the La Liga season.

During Mbappe’s initial season in Spanish football, Real Madrid clinched both the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
